Steve Hikida is the Director of Application and Data Security research and development. He is responsible for managing the worldwide research and development organization for the AppScan security portfolio, Key Lifecycle Management products, and cryotography technology all within a key pillar of the IBM Security System Division. Prior to this role, he was the Director of Rational’s Security, Automation and Cloud Development and the world wide leader of IBM’s Compilation Technology and Application Development Tools. Steve has over 20 years of experience in software development, systems architecture, compilers, development tools, and security. Since joining IBM in 1991, he has held numerous technical and management roles. His expertise includes application security, compilation technologies, computer hardware/software architectures, leading large world wide software development organizations and highly complex projects. Steve earned an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics with Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Business Administration from Athabasca University.
